This week we will be able to break bread together. Just follow the links and the instructions as you go through the devotional. You might like to have a piece of bread ready and glass(es) of juice or water or wine.

Prayer

Let us join together in prayer. In a sense we do come together when we pray, being mindful of each other. No circumstance can prevent that!

Heavenly Father, we come again to you because we know we can come, and come with confidence in your amazing ability to do more than we can ask or even think. As our Father you care for us more than words could adequately describe. You provide for us in abundance. You lead us carefully and wisely. You show us our need of your strength and help. You are always there for us and always with us. Graciously lead people in our community to a place of love for you and trust in you in these difficult times. Strengthen the weak. Comfort the sorrowing. Protect the vulnerable, both those who are being cared for and those who care for them.

And bless us all as we worship.

In Jesus name. Amen

Hymn Video

In that hymn are the words ” my name is graven on His hands, my name is written on His heart…” How comforting is that!

Hymn

We are going to prepare to break bread together now. If you would like to join in this time please get a piece of bread and glass of juice or water or wine and place them beside you.

Do join in pondering the words of the hymn by Isaac Watts below, or singing along with the music

When I survey the Wondrous Cross

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride

Forbid me Lord that I should boast
Save in the death of Christ, my God
All the vain things that charm me most
I sacrifice them to His blood

See, from His head, His hands, His feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did e’er such love and Sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown

Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all

Communion Prayer

Take a moment now to pray on your own or with member(s) of your household. Remember the family whose 13 year old child caught the Coronavirus and sadly died this last week. Pray for our country that people will be humbled by this microscopic invasion disrupting so much that we too easily take for granted. Pray that people will cry out to The Lord.

Faithful One

Faithful one, so unchanging
Ageless one, you’re my rock of peace
Lord of all I depend on you
I call out to you, again and again
I call out to you, again and again
You are my rock in times of trouble
You lift me up when I fall down
All through the storm
Your love is, the anchor
My hope is in You alone
