This Is Jesus the King of the Jews


This Sunday Brian Cox will be preaching. Pilate wrote an inscription posted above Jesus on the cross bearing the words: “THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS”. Were those words a sarcastic dig at the Jews, an ironic comment
on his earlier conversation with Jesus during his trial or were they
an indication that God’s Spirit had been at work in Pilate’s heart?
