He will be looking at the passage in 1 Peter chapter 3 verses 8-12. We will learn how a true believer in Jesus should behave. Peter has been describing how Christians should live in respect of those in authority, in the workplace, in the home as husbands and wives and in the church.

In this passage Peter homes in a little more detail about our relationship as Christians with other Christians within in a specific fellowship and our relationship and attitude towards those who are not Christians.

The account of the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ remains a foundation of the Christian faith. If that never actually happened then all that true Christianity purports to be true becomes nothing more than a story, a myth, without power to change lives or purpose for them.

Mary Magdalene features in the account of Jesus life, death and resurrection. We take a look at John chapter 20 where we read of her encounter with the risen Lord Jesus. Can we believe it? Was she telling the truth? Did Jesus really rise from the dead?

In the third chapter of the first letter of Peter we read instructions about how the Christian wife should relate to her husband and vice versa. This Sunday we take a look at how the husband’s relationship to his wife should be. As christians our relationships are being transformed and made better and stronger.

This instruction in verse 7, although addressed specifically to the Christian husband, has much to say to all.

The title of the sermon is “God cleanses our sins”.

Before we believe in Jesus, we have a problem. We are morally impure and cannot get rid of our sins. Thankfully, there’s a solution. Isaiah’s incredible vision in chapter 6 shows us that God wants to cleanse us from our sins. God reveals a pattern for being cleaned from our sins. We should revere his holiness, repent of our sinfulness and then receive his grace.

Jesus is described as “the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls” who has saved us from our sins through His death on the cross. Is that how we see Him? And do we see ourselves as sheep who have wandered from God’s ways?

Those lovely verses tell us so much about ourselves and about Jesus.
